Resistors

Forum Users:

Does anyone know what value resitor I would need to use between my digitrax decoder with outputs rated at 500mA to a micro LED.

Thanks,

I usually use a 1K resistor for LEDs. You can use a quarter-watt or eighth-watt size. If the LED is brighter than you want, go up another 200 ohms or so, and if it’s too dim, go down the same amount.

Use 1K 1/4 resistor per LED, basic solution, however since DCC uses 14V in HO and depending the LED I go up to 2K for SMD LED.
