Restoring a 671 Double Worm drive Turbine

What is the best way to restore this engine?? I have most of the parts to do a complete overhaul…I have brushes, brush springs, E-Unit Drum, E-Unit contacts (2 of them), 2 rollers, smoke bulb with indent, front and rear trucks…Only thing i am missing is the 2 pivot screws, a boiler front, smoke box cover, lamp contact assy, cup washer, truck spring, and some insulating washers…I figured it would be about $45.00 in parts…anyone know anyone i can buy parts off online with a credit card?? besides olsens and Orr’s…I have restored a 2020 single worm drive turbine but never a double wormer…guess i will have some fun and lots of cleaning to do…any help will do…thanks!!

Sorry, I was just responding to the post about the link to The Train Tender not working. As far as I know, Jeff at the Train Tender does not accept credit cards.

yeah i know…i had to print out an order form and fill it out and mail them a check for the amount for all the parts i need to restore this 671 turbine…well…i only spent $57 for the turbine and about 40 some in parts…it will be nice when i am done…little bit worried about the overhaul…the smoke unit with the bulb type will be a challenge…the E-Unit i am not even sure if that works…but i have all the parts to rebuild an e-unit…the motor…i have brushes and springs and a q-tip and tooth pick thats about all i need and an eraser head from a pencil…it is missing both the front and rear trucks…but i have some original spares…just need the pivot screws though…it does have the red brushplate which makes it look cool…the chassie and wheels can be cleaned and lubed…the collector is rusty…i can remove it…i think thats about it…how do you guys clean boilers??? with just soap and water??? and chemicals?? like mineral spirits??..thanks.
