As the subject line indicates, I am going to resubscribe. The MR-direct price is $42.95; however, online I find prices such as $28.95 from CheapMagazineSite.com, $29.50 from SubscriptionAddiction.com, $29.95 from Magazine.com, and $39.95 from ValueMags.com. This last is marked with GoogleCheckout.
The 24-cent question is, what is the risk with any or all of these?
Almost none if you pay with your credit card and/or paypal. Just print a record and be able to scan it and attach it to an email of claim to either party.

Well, you could end up like a friend of mine – paid online for what looked like a good deal, received about 9 out of 12 issues the first year, then discovered the company he had ordered from was not returning phone calls anymore.
He eventually got the credit card charge reversed for the second year I think, but it was “he said, she said” about the missing issues in the first year. And the publisher is absolutely unwilling to help if these are unauthorized agents.
They’re not all crooks, but I dont know which is which.
Model Railroader constantly sends out warnings that nobody represents them and to beware etc. etc. There must be a reason they do this… Me , i just re subscibe on the web site or mail them a check
The best and safest discount is the one that keeps popping up in a red box here on the forum index…you even get an Information Station .pdf on track plans for your effort…I opted to renew that way this time around.
