Return of the 60s

They may be a little older now & somewhat worn but last Sunday UP 2083, 2299, & 2311 proved they still had what it takes to muscle a train over Tehachapi. Even if that train was only 30 cars, it sure beats the normal dirty GEVOs. After catching the UP 2083 (MFRWC 12) in Mojave I gave a brief chase before heading back to Mojave to meet up with a friend. After awhile the trend of power for the UP went back to normal.

  1. UP 2038 hustling across the Mojave Sub near MP 389 just shy of the Sopp RD crossing.

  2. Back to the GEVOs, UP 5438 drops the QRVWCB down the eastern slope of the Tehachapi’s near MP 375.7 near Warren.

Thanks for looking,
