Just wanted to say hello to all of my old forum buddies, and an intro to some of you new posters. Its been a long time since my last post, so some of you probably won’t recognize me or my layout. My name is Bob, and I model a fictional version of the Western Pacific Railroad. My work schedule has kept me away from this forum, but luckily that has eased off to allow me to get back to work on my layout. Here a some pics / updates I have made on the railroad.
The pics are from my new layout. The layout that was featured in MR has long been dismantled. I did however manage to salvage over 90% of the structures from the old layout. That made building this new one (4-years old) much quicker than my previous one, even though it is 4x larger in sq footage.
Thanks, Bob, that’s what I thought. Your scenes above definitely look different than what I remembered.
And that’s great that you were able to salvage that much of your old layout. Are you able to post a track plan of both your old and new layouts? I think a number of people would enjoy seeing them.
I am very glad to see you back. In my opinion, it’s not just the amount of detail you create on your layouts, but there is a level of artistry that I can only envy. I’m looking forward to future photos with great anticipation.
Bob, welcome back. It is a thrill to see your new layout. There are not many of us that would have the courage to tear down something as wonderful as the old one. At first viewing it looks like it was worth all the effort. I am very much looking rofward to seeing more.
I,for one, have missed your pics of your finely detailed and crafted work!!!
Although you may have save 90% of the structures, it sure would be nice to see regular postings of your scenes in WPF {Weekend Photo Fun} thread that starts every friday! And of course, we WOULD like to see the 10% new structures!
Bob, welcome back to the forum! You were missed for sure. I can’t believe it’s been four years since you started this new layout. I remember the old one quite well.
Great modeling. I suggest you send some digital photos of your new layout to the guy who handles Trackside Photos for Model Railroader. I have a feeling he’ll look on them favorably. [;)]
