I have Atlas Custom Line Turnouts. On several turnouts I need to locate the throw bar to the opposite side of the turnout. Can you advise me how to do this.
Sure - It seems like every time I have to install one the throwbar is on the wrong side. Must be Murphey’s law. Anyway, changing the bar to the other side is really easy.
- Look between the points where the throw bar is attached and you’ll see a little tab on each side.
- Carefully pry up the tab (I usually use an exacto blade rather than a screw driver since it’s thinner)
- After the tabs on both sides are pried up, you can remove the throwbar.
- Turn the throwbar end for end and snap the tabs back in place.
It’s much simpler to do than to expalin but it will be very apparent what to do once you get started.
Be careful you do not BEND the points, easy to do.
