reversible pot topper

Hi Guys, I heard about this great new product that is better than Silfor. I was told that Michaels has it but can’t find it here in Naples, Florida. If anyone know of the company that makes them or where I can order online. I would greatly appreciate. Thanks Dave

I just read about these too. I went to, and bought 2 at “Michaels” they were $2.99 ea (I think). They were next to the “pretty stones” to put in glass vases at the store I went to.

Anyways, the package says “made in china for michaels crafts” or something like that. “I” was hoping to find where/who makes these also. I am enjoying putting mine in place. They ARE really “scratchy”, like, if you don’t get along well with fiberglass insulation, you won’t want to be tugging and cutting these up so much.

I someone were to have this product made into sheets, like 24x24" they’d sell like crazy!!!

Sounds wonderful. What is it? What do you use it for? What’s “silfor”? What pots are you topping?

Yeah, I’m kind of puzzled, too. What is a “pot topper?” Is it used in the kitchen, or is it maybe a toilet seat lid cover?

How big is this thing?

What be this odd duck?[%-)]

Here it is!

I have some on my layout and it works out well. I have seen some folks airbrush it to change the color a bit.

You can also pull it apart to make smaller clumps.

When you find them at Michaels take a look at all of them as they are not all the same. Some are more uniform than others and some are more clumpy. Just depends on what you need.

And you can use that for trees? Yes? Right on!

That does look interesting… Might even have to take a trip to get one.

Hi Dave: Thank you for the head’s up on Pot Toppers. I got some from Michaels today, and tried it along the bank of Stoney Creek. I like it, it’s a bit different from Silfor, and it has a kind of dark earth base. Here’s a quick photos of it in place.

Great-looking scenes, Grampy. [swg] Does anybody have a product number for these “pot toppers”? I’ve been to a couple of Michaels stores in this area, and none of them to be found. Perhaps, with a number, I could have them order some in.

Wayne

Thanks Wayne: The only number I can find on the package is: SKU #412811. I hope that helps. I actually walked by them, and, gasp!, had to ask for assistance.

Thanks, Grampy, I’ll see if I can find them now. [swg]

Does anyone know if this is the same stuff?

Supamoss

I’m kind of suspicious it is, as the pot toppers came up under a google search with the English company (the link above is for their US branch. The UK link I found was here - see their new product announcement in the lower right.

If you click on products, they sell the following"

Each liner is a 2ft by 2ft square, suitable for lining most baskets up to 16 inches diameter- or it can be overlapped to fit larger containers. PACK OF 5 LINERS - for $19.95

I’d be curious if anyone who has it can determine if it is the same stuff.
