You’ll need to bump up the component sizes, so that they handle the higher Large Scale currents!
Do you want a reversing loop or a reversing unit. two vwery different things. I have two MTS reversing loops and I am the absolute king of reversing loops. I know a bit about them as well. They are terrific things and they will give your layout new life.

The man asked for a “reversing loop” schematic, since he would like to automate it. That’s what one does with the sensors.
The man also mentioned his power supply and control, which indicates DC running.
In German there is a saying: “Wer lesen kann ist im Vorteil” (Those who can read have the advantage!).
As for the “back and forth” traffic, did you know that every ZIMO central unit (world’s leading DCC technology since 1980) has 2 (two) built-in circuits to set up two separate “to and fro” sections. No extras required! If one runs the rest of the layout on auto, these sections will be fully integrated and protected.
There is a HUGE difference between a top of the pyramid system like ZIMO and the ho-hum features of MTS!!

Be that as it may, I don’t worry about you not being sure!
All I would recommend is: Work your way through the various manuals from the various DCC system manufacturers, then come back and tell me where I’m wrong.
BTW I could have written NCE instead of ZIMO, the premise wouldn’t change!
