Reversing Unit Hook-up Question

I’m a novice (and a lady) trying to set-up an outside display with a Playmobil reversing unit on G track. There are three parts and I’m stumped because directions are in German. I’ve tried every sort of configuration and still the train won’t reverse. There is a short track (4") with a capasiter, another track (10") with block and capasiter, and a block with a wired piece that snaps onto the track.

Can anyone help me with the configuration?

Does it matter where I have the transformer connected?
