Review 1941 Ford by Fleer (pics)

This is a 1941 Ford two door sedan in 1/43 scale painted in one of ther original factory colors.[8D] The state license plates shown highlight the correct colors and styles from 1941. [:)]

The paint finish is outstanding and the chrome looks great.[:p]

price = $14.95

Holy Cow !
Are those taillights or dinner plates? I don’t remember them being quite that large.[:O]

Tom, that’s a really nice car. Is that strictly a mail-order item, or are there certain types of stores where one might pick that up?

Hi Dave,

I pick it up at our local hobby shop here in Willoughby, but he has a very large section of Diecast cars. You can also get it from www.diecastdirect.com

BTW – Diecastdirect is were our local shop got his from.

Doug – I can’t say about the tail lights – this car is before my time.

The tailights are incorrect. Too big for the 40’s, they look like they came from a 50’s Volvo.

Doug may be correct, I found this pic by doing a search on the internet

It also appears that the tail lights had a chrome frame around them. Maybe that is why the diecast looks large, it doesn’t have that.

“A 50’s Volvo”, indeed. Don, take a look at this: http://www.cvi-automotive.se/resdela/3_elsystem/1pv_lighting.htm

Aside from the taillights it is way [8D].

re: cars found on internet-tailights…
the taillights on the cars from the internet are correct for this yr model…I had one. Ran great on straights,but watch the curves-had a crazy rear suspension that tried to pass the front end. Just so u wld no-the model looks great-enjoy-who knows,maybe had a mild custom done on the rear taillights-used to do it all time on mine on me buddies cars.
