Rich Battista’s Black Diamond Ry.
I am a long ways from having the skills that created Mr Battista’s Black Diamond Ry. I enjoyed seeing this layout and thank Mr Battista for his allowing us to see it. Seeing his layout lets me believe that I may be able to accomplish something similiar. I am building my own layout (finally, as I am close to 70). I am using my original Lionel given to me by my Father at the end of WWII. It still works and I want to pass that on to my sons for their children.

This layout is described in one word: EPIC!
I am just beginning to re-enter the toy train scene since I was a kid. I have an old Lionel set from the late 40’s and early 50’s. They need alot of work, but if I can have half the layout Mr. Battista has accomplished, I would be happy. Watching the video put a smile on my face. Thank you, Sir.

Kinda like seeing Nicklaus hit t drive for the first time and wanting to throw my clubs in the lake. Rich is a real artist, I’m just a paint by the numbers modeler!
I had to rerun Mr. Batista’s video again because it looked so real. I’m in the process of turning the loft of my barn into my train room i.e. stairs, wiring, dry-wall, paint, etc, then the layout itself. Like a lot of us model railroaders my trains date back to the fifties. Thanks Rich for giving me the encouragement to get this project done. I can’t wait.
