Riding the Presidential at Strasburg

I just returned from a trip to PA. In addition to taking in the Pennsylvania RR Museum, which was quite good and affordable, we also took a ride on the Strasburg. The Presidential car, or Reading No 10 as they call it was as good as it gets. I wish the ride had been longer, but even so I thought it was worth every penny. To ride on this car behind steam was great. Happened to be the same week as the Thomas event, tons of kids, many will become the next generation of railfanning.

Glad to hear you had a nice time in Strasburg. I hope you had an opportunity to visit a couple of other attractions that are just a couple of miles from there. A Toy Train Museum which is a must see, especially for their collection of antique trains, the Choo Choo Barn which is a 1700 sq ft display with some terrific animation and quite a few trains operating at once. Finally, right next door to the Choo Choo Barn is a pretty nice hobby shop. Since I first visited the area a couple of years ago, I have gone at least once a year. The only down side for me is that most of these places seem to close at 5:00 pm.
