I bought a used rigi duo, lehmann 9000 series gondola.
It came with 2 gondola ski lifts and some plastic pullies and plastic cable.
A couple of ski figures.
Mine did not come with the motor. I contacted the LGB company about buying the motor for it and some more parts.
However, they only sell complete kits. Bummer.
I want to make it go strait across and around the pulley, from one end of the room to the other and back.
So I grooved the pullies for picture frame wire. Thats what I am using. Since the plastic wire is not long enough. Dremel tool came in handy. I then made some brackets out of wood to hold the pullies.
I found a motor, gear motor, at all electronics.com and I am awaiting arrival to see how it is going to works. The rpm I got was less than what I had liked. But I did have some trouble finding a A/C gear motor that I think will work.
I also removed the plastic piece off the gondola car, as the current system it comes with, only attaches the plastic rope and does not go around the pulley.
The electric version from LBG has a motor with a clutch, so it stops and reverses. I prever something that is continous and non-stop.
I was thinking of adding a light inside of the gondola, but has to be small and light. I was initially thinking LED type, but at the loacl radio shack, I only found, 3 volt, 6 volt, 12 volt led lights. I was thinking 1.5 volt. A small battery. I did not want to add any more weight than needed to. Would cause stress on the pullies and motor.
Each gondola is about 8 oz. I will have two on the wire.
I also was not able to find a tiny on/off switch that was small enough or rated 3volts or less. for the on/ off of the light.
Any thoughts would be recommended. I dont want to add more than 1/2 oz of weight total, including the battery to the gondola.
I was initially thinkng a
