Ring Engineering?

Has anybody used these things & are they a quality item for $40.00?

Never heard of them, but that looks amazing, incredibly small and well shaped for an actual working EOT marker. Could explain the $40 price.

What does it do?

The EOT (End Of Train) device (also called FRED - Flashing Rear End Device) attaches to the last car of a train and connects to the brake line. It monitors air pressure and train motion and relays this info to the locomotive up front. The engineer can then tell when the last car begins moving and if the brake pipe is fully charged.

These devices were the nail in the coffin for the caboose. The train crew can all ride up front in the locomotive while still having vital info about the other end of the train.

That looks like a pretty accurate model of a modern EOT. Even the size looks right. Pretty stiff price though… plus you would always have the same car as the last car on your train unless you are willing to swap the truck from car to car.

It looks nice but $40.00, I could find something else for $40.00[V][:(][banghead]
