Rivarossi Berk before and after (re-edited, have another look)

I almost sold my Rivarossi Berk American Railroads because I was never happy with all those blue rectangles on a steam loco, they just didn’t look right. But I got the loco for $50 at Trainland and it was the only Berk I could afford, so…### I put on a Kadee, loaded the boiler with weight, converted the headlight to a yellow LED and shimmed up the drivers with fiber washers. The loco ran a lot better, but all that blue…### Finally I decided to paint over all the blue, the yellow square on the cylinders and the yellow lettering on the domes. I use acrylics. I know craft store acrylics on engines look kind of hokey but I can’t use the spray stuff. I tried flat black but it didn’t match, so I washed it off and boxed up the loco to sell.### After a few weeks I decided to try again. I mixed a combination of colors and came up with a match. Then I rubbed on Woodland Scenic transfers. The result is not protypical, but some alternate universe Santa Fe loco. I think it came out pretty decent. (pardon my cheap camera)

Thanks for looking!### Rob

The pictures are all coming up as red Xs and a bunch of HTML for me.

Same here. Can’t see anything.

I tried to edit your post because sometimes I can get a clearer idea from the code in edit mode. But I’m afraid I see lines upon lines of gobbledygook. It may be the host site’s server screwing things up for you, or maybe you have the wrong links entirely. You need to past the image’s URL at a host web-site and place the standard img tags in square brackets on either end.

Nada, niente, nihil, nothing, nichts

I don´t see anything either. Too bad - I was so curious!

Nice tease!
