Hi I just purchased the engine listed above that has never been run (I think its a 1976) and am having some problems with it and am not sure how to get some advise. Motor wants to go and light does light up, however there are these two metal pieces in the rear that keep coming out of two small holes in the platform between the engine and tender. This stops movement of the gear. Any thoughts or ideas where I might get a service manual or what might be going on?

Welcome to the CTT forum. While you are most certainly welcome here, this crowd tends toward the O gauge/ S gauge, etc. You would be better going to the Model Railroader forum (also by the parent company of this forum). They cater to HO and N and are a very informed crowd that should be able to help you out.
