Rivarrossi Parts

Anyone know where I can get the gold bells For the front of the rivarossi 0-8-0 switchers? I need about 6.

Nellie

If you find out where to get those bells let me know I have a berkshire and a bunch of other engines with no horns or bells(gp-type and rs-2).

also anyone know where i can get the springs for the brushes in the motor. I have new brushes and thought they would come with springs but no they didn’t. Any help would be appreciated

I’ve had to replace lost springs before, when I knew that there was no hope of finding OEM parts. How did I do it? I made my own by wrapping .010" phosphor bronze wire around a suitable form (usually a toothpick or piece of piano wire, depending on the size of the brush that needs to be made). Not terribly difficult. [:)]

Golf Manor Hobbies has been selling parts for Rivarrossi locomotives for many years. They are in Cincinnati, OH.

where would i find said bronze wire at?

I don’t know where to find Rivarossi plastic bells exactly (Gold Manor Hobbies may have some), but I do know Bowser/Cal Scale makes a few different brass bells for HO steam engines.

The #190-281 appears to be the closest match, and since they’re made of brass, they should look more realistic than the Rivarossi bells, and you wouldn’t have to worry about them breaking. Unfortunately, they’re retailed at nearly $4 each.

A well stocked hobby shop would probably have it. In a pinch I bet you could use 28 or 30 AWG solid core wire… teh 30 AWG is about 0.010" in diameter. If you need smaller wire, maybe use one of the strands from say 20AWG stranded wire. I just measured some that i have here, and it’s 0.006" in diameter

thanks for the info
