Road Coloring Worries

I’ve just finished laying down a plaster road for my layout, and now I’ ready to stain it with asphalt Topcoat from Woodland Scenics. However, the color is WAY to dark, and I’m going to dilute it. MY QUESTION: how much should I dilute it with? I dont want to mess up and have a road that looks like a piece of crud.

I can take all the help you can give. Thanks!

It depends. Dilute a little (Like a tiny bit and do a test patch. You can even do some dark, some lighter and some really light, Roads arent all the same colour

MR ran an article on Pelle Soeberg’s layout a few months ago, if I remember correctly he used a mixture of Gull grey and sand, it looked fantastic.

I read that article; those were some awesome roads. Unfortunately, I don’t have any Polly Scale paint, or any paint, for that matter [].
