I now have an HO scale Union Pacific Bachmann SD40. It has no road number. The numbers have to be red in color. I have searched this forum for previous threads discussing this and came up empty. Is there anywhere i can obtain the correct size, color, ect. decals thats needed for the loco?. Thanks for your time
I don’t know exactly who makes them but it seems to me that the only place you are going to find red lettering is on a sheet of Onion Specific diesel decals
I found the red decalsets for the SD40 that you may be looking for at Microscale Decals. I hope this helps.
R.T POTEET. That is alot of help.Thanks. come here for help and get a smart a** answer. Why do I even try.
[%-)][%-)]I’m pretty sure he was being serious and helpful. I’ve never seen a sheet of “red only” road #'s. I’ve seen red #'s on UP and some CP decal sheets. Might have to buy a whole loco sheet to get what you want.

Microscale is definitely the answer for you. The decals are thin-film, settle very well over any irregularities and are very sharply made. If your LHS doesn’t carry them in stock, they should be able to order them for you.

You can order them direct from MS as well and they’re very prompt.
I found what i was looking for. Thanks everyone for your time and help.[:)]
Some of us have a different sense of humour, I would have come up with a similar answer referring to “Onion Specific”, as it turns out I know Micro-Scale is the source as I have just used some, the part numbers start in the Alphabet range from 90161 to 90176 in a vast range of colours, the 'Red with Black Outline" is shown as part number 90175.
