I’ll bet you the units are being returned to Muncie so they can change out the gear ratio for high speed service.
All SD70ace uses the 70:17 gear ratio. I do believe that BNSF wants to use the 83:20 which is designed for high speed service.

I saw 1211 Tuesday on the Chillicothe Sub second out on a Z train and was running.

Tested on Raton Pass…interesting. So something besides the SWC was on that route.
