The color looks good How did you apply the plaster ?

I used sculptamold for the base and (not knowing the trick of using a wet putty knife to smooth the suclptamoldd) drywall compound over that. Then I painted it with el cheapo walmart gray paint and applied crushed rock from a local quarry while still wet. Blow excess off once dry and there it is.

I haven’t done any roads yet. I was Thinking of using a small childs play shovel to help make the base a uniform thickness by turning it upside down so that the sides of the shovel would also make the sides of the road a uniform width

To get that slope in the road too?
