Hey everyone! I have been looking at some roadbed lately and am curious as to what you think is the best stuff. I like how California Roadbed has seperate guages for mainline and siding, but what else am I missing? Educate me!

The type of model roadbed depends on what you like for your track laying.
On the prototype, the mainline had the highest and best roadbed, then they went lower and not so good from there. Next generally was the passing siding, then light spurs, then yards. I am sure there were others inbetween, but how many different roadbed heights do you want to model.
Well I definitely need a mainline. I will have a large yard, as well as at least 2 or 3 little spurs. The mainline isnt a huge part of the layout for sometime as I wont have the space for a while!

Some people use standard HO cork for their mains and N for their sidings for a lower profile. (assuming your doing HO gauge)
Yards are usually just flat.
