Has anyone tried AMI’s Instant Roadbed? If so can you let me know any positives/drawbacks. I’m getting back in to Model railroads after about 13 years so I’m finding a lot has changed. Any help would be appreciated.

I used it once on my 1st N scale layout many years ago. After a while though, my track started lifting off and then the roadbed. But then it might have been something I did, lol. I was 12 at the time, lol. It works nice, but is a bit low in height. Just make sure your surface is clean. And get the black if you use it, they grey was usually way too light. But that’s up to you of course.

I have been pleased with the material, which I initially decided to use based on other decisions regarding layout contruction. I do not rely on it, however, to hold my ballast in place.
