The June 1989 Trains issue has an article entitled “A horse of a different color”. It talks about the C&O roadrailers as well as the (then) modern revolution. The article was written back when Norfolk Southern and CSX both had parallel Roadrailer routes from Detroit to Atlanta. I still like looking at the picture of a NS GP50 backing to it’s Roadrailer train at night in the snow. [8D]
I’m a big C&O fan and its my road of choice, over the last few years I’ve been collecting C&O diesels and cars from the begining of the diesel era up until around right before chessie ([xx(]) started. I’ve allways wanted to put one at the end of my string of C&O budd cars.
