roadway striping

today i tried something new to apply my centerline on roads. i bought some automotive pinstriping one eighth in. wide. worked out perfect. 40 ft roll cost 3. 99 has anyone else tried this method? i may be behind the times. bought it at pep boys. comes in single or double stripe. dave

I also use it, but I lightly sand it and apply dullcoat.

Depends on your scale. If you’re in O, 1/8 inch scales to 6 inches. Since most highway striping is more like 4 inches, that’s pretty close. But for those of us in HO, a 1/8 inch stripe scales to almost 11 inches. Do you know if they have 1/16 stripes?

my error the striping i used was 1/16 width. mine is also ho. thanks dave

I use a product called Kwik Stripe, from GreatPlanes in 1/16" width. It is make for model airplanes but works just fine in this application. It comes in a varietysizes and colors but the two most useful are white and yellow. Pictures on my website.
