Roanoke Live Cam Web Feed

This one does not work at all; from Kalmbach site: [urlhttp://128.173.197.94/railcamjv.htm][/url]

This one does: http://128.173.197.94:443/RRCmov

(You may have to copy/paste the address into the address bar of your browser to get this to work)

Second link did not work until recently as the website was down for maintenance.

I had never seen that 1st one you listed… I have always used one of these, depending on what bandwidth I am willing to commit.

Highest resolution and update rate; uses Windows Media Player to display.

http://128.173.197.94:443/RRCmov

Lower resolution and (I think) slightly slower update rate; uses Browser window to display.

http://128.173.197.94/railcamax.htm

Lowest resolution and 1 second update rate; uses Windows Media Player to display.

I often use the last one until I see something interesting to watch and then switch to the 1st one… but it often takes too long to get it open and I miss stuff!

I use HyperCam 2 to record the screen video if I want to save a motion video and just PrtScrn to grab a snapshot of events/objects. I wrote a program a long time ago (back in Winders 3.0 days but still works in Winders 7) that displays the time and date on screen that can be placed over the video display to get the date/time in the photos or videos.

A link that sometimes contains words that explain planned outages of the camera is at:

http://www.roanokerailcam.com/

(when the camera is running it provides a link to the 2nd link above).

EDIT: I just tried the 1st link you show and it works just fine for me… it presents the same display page in the browser as my 2nd link. I got both of them running at the same time and the link that ends in “jv” seems to be 1 second ahead of the one that ends in “ax”.

Been using the .443 link for a long time. Best resolution when the camera is working.
