Hello. Am I the only one that cannot get this Rail Cam any more.Last time was when the Steam train came back from Spencer.It comes up says loading then ready and that is it.Any help will great . Thank you.
No, you’re not alone. Hasn’t been working for me either. this happens from time to time.
I, too, have not been able to get it for several weeks. Never see any status update on the web site either.
In Firefox on a Lenovo laptop running Windows 7, I got a view from the camera for about 1/8 second, then the black screen with orange cone that shows VLC ‘failure’. Updated to 2.2.1, which I think is latest version, black screen only. Pause and play buttons at the bottom respond, but don’t produce any video action.
Site says it’s best in IE and Chrome. I don’t care for Chrome at all, but I have it on the system for those occasions where nothing else works. It was rather nasty about not ‘supporting’ the plugin that was being used, even after I went in as Google suggested and turned NPAPI support back on temporarily (type this
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
in the browser address bar and then ‘Enable’ for the highlighted item).
Whatever it is, I think it is in the software on the Hotel Roanoke end.

The website seems to be having problems. I got it to work on the 1st of July for a while but it kept disconnecting after anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds and I’d have to restart it. We are all hoping they get it fixed… soon.
