i watch fortoria oh rail cam frequently and i am curious, can the rochelle cam b upgraded to the standards to the fostoria cam? i like the size of the fostoria cam screen as well as the sound. yes i know it will take money, effort and time but i think it would b a tremendous improvement for Rochell cam. your thoughts? tyia
,What is the Fostoria cam address tyia…? Did you say sound…!
That’s an element of the Netherlands cam…Sound. Makes it much more interesting.

Here the sound is a bit of a distraction, as it usually consists of cars vehicular traffic rattling across the grade crossing. It can be turned down, though.
I have yet to see a train on the Fostoria cam. I know the place is busy, so this is surprising to me.
I also see that their site is talking about an out-of-service Camera 2 at the C&O/NKP diamond. I’d certainly find that one as useful as the other; the option of seeing them both together is nice.
Not too sure that sound would be a constructive addition to the Rochelle cam (unless it included a live scanner feed), but an enlargeable view would be useful. I guess, though, that takes more band-width, and band-width costs money. Too bad the Webcam isn’t a profit center, usable for ads from people like the B&B by the diamond, or the city itself (promoting their contribution to the park), so that added amenities to the Webcam could be justified.
Carl,
Just for the sake of discussion, I no longer do either the Rochelle or Fostoria web cams. Roanoake is decidedly my choice.
My logic in the above comment. The Rochelle camera is slow to update, and watching jerky trains has no appeal to me. The Fostoria cam is loaded with pop up advertisements that are a PITA. I understand those advertisements may be necessary to support the camera but still are a pain when the unexpectedly interrupt the passing of a train.
I’ll stick with the one in Roanoke, thank you.
