On friday (April 6) I went to Rochelle Ill for some railfanning. Wow! I loved it there. I never realized how many trains there are. So here’s what I saw. (I still can’t get my scanner to work so I can’r scan my photos.) I saw two Yellow Bonnet BNSF locomotives leading a container train, talk about rare, I also saw two BN locomotives leading a Auto Rack, still had there oringal numbers! UP had two Southern Pacific locomotives running and two CSX. 1995 was on route, but I didn’t know what time it was coming, so I didn’t get a picture. I think I got a taste of every thing. There was some switching and shuttling of cars, Main line crossing, a pusher units, and passing of trains. Lots of UP action though, more than two thirds of my pictures where UP. It was windy but All in All it was a geart trip and I’ll be going back this summer for some more shots.[:)] So have any of you had any good experiences at Rochelle?
There’s such a thing as a bad experience at Rochelle? After about half a dozen visits, I’ve yet to have one of those…
