Rochelle Web Cam needs updating

Why can’t the Rochelle Web Cam be a live feed like the Norfolk Cam?

Send money.

I’m not sure of who pays for what (I believe the city of Rochelle has a hand in this, as well), but in the end, bandwidth costs money. Full motion video requires more bandwidth.

There may also be the matter of a hardware upgrade (send money).

In many cases, the railcams are riding on the back of someone elses high-speed Internet connection.

That’s not to say that said upgrade can’t, or won’t, happen, only that somebody has to pony up the cash to make it so.

Those of us who’ve been around awhile remember when it only updated every 3 seconds. Its current speed is “fast” compared to how it was. We can actually tell which direction the trains are moving now! We can see the locomotives before they’re gone! Times are quite good now.
