Rochelle Web Cam

In the past couple days there has been very little traffic on the Rochelle Web Cam. Does anyone know why?

Flooding problems in Iowa have the UP main more or less shut down except for some local traffic or traffic that doesn’t have to go via Iowa. I saw photos of the UP bridge at Cedar Rapids completely under water, so nothing can come to Rochelle from the far west unless it goes by another route for now anyway.

Others may have more detailed information they can provide you.

Most of the trains you will see are BNSF trains, but normally UP has by far the busier line through Rochelle, so expect fewer trains than normal on the webcam until UP reopens. The BNSF is actually a bit busier than normal due to coal trains detouring because the normal route for coal trains being flooded.

Tune in tomorrow…

Cody, I remember stopping at the station in Grimsby when I was an early teenager, to add some Canadian timetables to my collection. I believe I got my first TH&B timetable there. Wish I still had it!

Are any of these trains being re-routed in to Canada?

Read the Newswire - traffic is embargoed until further notice.
