Thank you for getting the Rochelle web cam back up! Also, great coverage on the Big Boy move.
I haven’t watched that camera in years. I’ve found webcams that are better in quality and sound. Plus, for most, you don’t have to pay to watch. Sometimes, you have to refresh or click a box that says “to view again, click here” and that is for people who can’t sit on it all day. I know it costs money but again, it’s also a reflection on their product. Crap webcam, crap magazine (my opinion, I’ve been a subscriber in the past and let it lapse because I can read it in 20 minutes. The last interesting feature was the Baileys Yard in North Platte(and they have a better webcam)). Rochelle is a host to ATCS for the UP and BNSF. That program is all privately funded by users but mainly by Mark Lowe and other hosts (either money and/or time). I do not see why Trains Magazine cannot put a better quality camera up at Rochelle. I am actually in the process of setting up a webcam at a friends house so I don’t have to travel to watch trains. I can sit at home 35 miles away, fire up the ATCS and wait for the trains to view on camera. I’m buying the camera, he’s providing the spot and whoever wants access to watch will be splitting the cost of the bandwidth. But most of it will be coming out of my pocket
