I was just watching the Rochelle web cam and noticed that there were a few people wondering around on the UP right of way. Doesn’t seem to be too smart. They were very close to the moving train.
Also the fence at the end of the viewing area seems to be open.
Is that the way its supposed to be?
No.
You can easily access either the BNSF or UPRR tracks @ Rochelle. Back beyond the camera there are stairs that go up to sitting area & in that area there is no fence & you are at grade level with the tracks. Uou can also access the tracks from across the tracks from the “gate” you mention. There are also grade crossings on both the BNSF & the UPRR which you also cannot see on the camera so you have plently of warning that a train is approaching. [:o)][8D]
