Rochelle Webcam

Has anyone ever seen anyone walking in front of the Rochelle webcam ?[:)]

I’ve seen a lot of people, you just have to watch a while. It’s cool to see some of your friends that wave at you there sometimes.

I wonder if anyone saw me this morning at 1:00 A.M. ? [:D] Probably too dark though.

WOW! You were out there at 1:00 AM. That’s cool, I could only make it to about 11PM when I was in Rochelle!

Watch it enough and you’ll see people crossing the tracks, walking around the hobo pit and on top of the strap rail, mowing, all sorts of stuff. Never mind the MOW people who are almost always working on the diamonds. Occasionally you’ll see the garage door on the right side of the screen open and close…

Rochelle really is an active place. There’s a lot of people always walking around that town. It makes you feel more relaxed though.

What I would like to know is, what is that building up at the top end of the street on the right? At night it has a sort of pink glow about it.

Sitting here in sub-tropical Queensland it’s often nice to look at the snow just to cool down a bit

Kinda an active little town…I was there last June after the RR days in Galesburg (did ya see me [:P]) my son likes the BNSF…eww…I don’t know where he gets it, I was there for my home road good ole UP [:D]

Note: I guess BNSF is ok, it got one of my first roads…the SLSF (Frisco).

I’m sure that’s a light shining off of a garage. The building in the center of the diamond is part of the warehouse for Del Monte.
Dave [:D][:D]

I was there just a month after you in July! [:p]
Dave [:D][:D]

Pretty sure it’s a residential garage. I’ve see the overhead door open. Probably a sodium light - they have an orangi***inge.

Damn that would be so kool to see some of us forum folks together on the cam…“hi mom”.

Tried to wave in the camera while a train was going right before we left to go home. When we got home and checked the recent images… there we were! It was awesome!
Dave [:D][:D]

Thanks Larry - I think I’ve seen it open a couple of times now I think about it

I was there at 2 AM

At Rochelle at 1 a.m. or 2 a.m., hey guys, I can dig all this railfan stuff, but REALLY!!!

At 11PM I was sleeping while the trains were actually going! I don’t know how you guys did it.
Dave

you guys that live close are really lucky! i would love to get out to see it some time, i’m all the way over in ma. still some cool train spotting though!

Actually, there’s a method to their madness…UP, at least, tends to run much of its intermodal business through Illinois in the wee hours…eastbound, anyway. If one had the stamina for such a thing, an early-morning fan party there would be fun! However, I’d choose a time that wasn’t in the middle of January! And if it’s a warm summer night, just pray that the pop machines don’t break down or run out!

It was cool being there at 1:00 A.M., especially since it was my first time there. I was suppose to be on my way home from a friends house, and got “sidetracked”.[:D] I had to work at 7:00 A.M. too, got 2 and a half hours sleep. I told my boyfriend last night, he said I"m nuts. [:D]
