Watch it enough and you’ll see people crossing the tracks, walking around the hobo pit and on top of the strap rail, mowing, all sorts of stuff. Never mind the MOW people who are almost always working on the diamonds. Occasionally you’ll see the garage door on the right side of the screen open and close…
Kinda an active little town…I was there last June after the RR days in Galesburg (did ya see me [:P]) my son likes the BNSF…eww…I don’t know where he gets it, I was there for my home road good ole UP [:D]
Note: I guess BNSF is ok, it got one of my first roads…the SLSF (Frisco).
Tried to wave in the camera while a train was going right before we left to go home. When we got home and checked the recent images… there we were! It was awesome!

you guys that live close are really lucky! i would love to get out to see it some time, i’m all the way over in ma. still some cool train spotting though!
Actually, there’s a method to their madness…UP, at least, tends to run much of its intermodal business through Illinois in the wee hours…eastbound, anyway. If one had the stamina for such a thing, an early-morning fan party there would be fun! However, I’d choose a time that wasn’t in the middle of January! And if it’s a warm summer night, just pray that the pop machines don’t break down or run out!
It was cool being there at 1:00 A.M., especially since it was my first time there. I was suppose to be on my way home from a friends house, and got “sidetracked”.[:D] I had to work at 7:00 A.M. too, got 2 and a half hours sleep. I told my boyfriend last night, he said I"m nuts. [:D]
