I have a Life Like CRI&P GP18 and would like to make it into a GP10 (My All Time Favorite Rebuilt Locomotive.!.) What do I need to do?
Will I need to Chop the hood? or remove the dynamic Brake Blister? Or Do I Need To Completely KITBA***HE UNIT The Prototype I Have In Mind Is Those Of The New York And Atlantic Railroad sence NYA GP10#201 Was across the river in Jeffersonville I’ve Got A Few Photos of her and would like to reproduce it in N Gauge/Scale
Photos of NYA GP10’s:

Looks like sanding off the fins on the side of thje dynamic brake blister and and cutting of the fan on top would do it.
A chop nosed loco could be easily bashed from a Life Like GP18 shell and a Life Like GP20 shell. I have some high hood GP20’s (Western Pacific)
I Think that this one would be pretty easy. The dynamic brake fan would need to be removed, as well as the screens on the side of the blister. If you are trying to model this exact unit, you must find a bell that mounts on the top of the long hood. That is the key detail for this unit. If you wanted to go further, You could replace the radiator screens with GP7/GP9 ones. The ones from a GP18/GP20 were slightly different. I think sunrise makes this part. Post some pics when your done.
