what was the name of the Rock Island subdivsion that ran north to south through El Reno Oklahoma. my layout will have an interchange with this track and I would like to know what it was called. thanks!!!

I might not have tried to answer this question if I’d known it would be so complicated, but our library has a copy of CRI&P Timetable no. 4 of October 25, 1964, for the Southern Division, Second District. That shows two Rock Island main lines crossing at El Reno,
the north-south line between Wichita, Kans. and Dallas, Texas, and the east-west line between Little Rock, Ark., and Amarillo, Tex. Added to that, El Reno was the terminal for four mainline subdivisions running to as many points of the compass.
The north-south line included:
Subdivision No. 45, El Reno north to Caldwell, Okla.;
and Subdiv. No. 46, El Reno south to Waurika, Okla.
Just for the record, the east-west line included:
Subdiv. No. 47, El Reno west to Sayre, Okla.;
and Subdiv. no. 48, El Reno east through Oklahoma City to Shawnee, Okla.
All you have to do now is figure which (or how many) of these subdivisions your railroad crosses.
