Rock music, model railroading and XM radio

With the wife at work until late tonight, I am spending the whole day working on my model railroad. I have XM radio in my workshop and for some reason channel 46 has been playing live versions of almost every great rock song ever made all day. The just finished a 3 song live set from the Eagles. It just doesn’t get any better than this!! Haven’t heard any Rod Stewart since this morning though. - Nevin

I’ve been streaming Railroad Radio on the layout room computer.

I’ve got Sirius in the house. Satellite radio has me pretty spoiled. I can’t stand commercials anymore.

Rock music is my other hobby. I stash most of my electric guitars underneath my layout.

I have Sirius as well and I listen to Hair Nation all the time.

Vote 1 more for XM…I only listen to commercials when listening to ESPN Radio!

I don’t care if you have XM or Sirius, SATRADIO is the best.

Thanks for posting that link! I’ve been listening to the UP feed out of Omaha while I check my email and surf the forums. Interesting listening…

Regarding the OP, getting satellite radio is like getting a Tivo – you wonder how you ever lived without it!

I’m hooked on The Vault. Obscure tracks you normally don’t hear played.

Varnet-I’ve found some of the feeds out of Florida seem to have the most activity.

If its a perfect morning with the Eagles than a bad day would be Rod Stewart. Nice layout but dont like his music. Only thing worse would be a nonstop day of Billy Joel. Although you could model a scene where a car went went into a house. LOL. Joe

I like oldies rock and roll from the 50’s and 60’s, but XM 164, 165 and 166 get listened to the most. Also have sat radio in my workshop.Sometimes I listen to books on CD also.

I bring out the old boombox and crank some zeppelin, or get my CD player and drum to zeppelin.

Sometimes Kiss or AC/DC comes out too. Mainly the Zep though.

If I’m ever in a room where there’s Billy Joel music playing, I’m movin’ out! Ack ack ack ack!
