Please,Please,Please, does anyone know where I can purchase decals for the Rocky Mountaineer Railtours Train, or is there some sort of copywrite preventing them from being made??? CPPedler
It’s probably not the trademark laws preventing them from being made. I would lean more towards demand. I, for one, have never heard of this road . If someone were to make the decals for them they would probably not sell many sets. As a decal producer I have to be able to sell enough sets to justify the cost of doing them (my time) -vs- making a set that I know will sell. I have found that with some of these shortlines all it takes is a phone call or nicely worded letter to secure permision to produce these decals. With a letter of permision and a good set of photos I probably could produce some sets for you. Mind you there would be a setup fee to do this work as I would have no intention of ever puting thsm in my catalogue.

You might try making your own. Check postings for computer graphic outputs in this forum. Probably a good picture, or try your own photoshop or graphics package. Don’t give up!!

Rocky Mountain Railtours (RMR) is a tourist operation running trains through the Canadian Rockies. They have used standard diesels, but I think most of their passenger cars are custom made ones, some with full length domes. A recent issue of “Canadian Railway Modeller” magazine (Sept/Oct 2004) featured a cover article on kitbashing one of their “Ultradome” cars by Terry Wynne (from England, no less!). He states that he had some custom decals made in England for his model, with the permission of RMR.
Perhaps ordering a copy of the issue would help - the magazine’s website is:

Good luck!
