Wish there were more details but thanks for posting this. Roco was once the premiere manufacturer of HO diesels.
… and with premium prices, too. Did you see the German sales price of nearly $ 400 for the DCC & sound version?
Thats interesting but two things. 1) New territory now, unproven, 2) as someone pointed out, price is very VERY high.
Thats going to be tough competing with the likes of Athearn Genesis, which I have a susupicion may do a SD40 in the not too distant future. I’m very interested in a Southern Pacific SD40 with the light package and plow; here is hoping Genesis announces them this year!
Cheers, Jim
Doubt anyone would pay that amount of money, what with the BLI version being a quarter of the cost.
BLI hasn’t done a straight 40…
I’d rather they not … I’m skeptical of BLI and prefer Athearn Genesis to make one. I don’t own any BLI and so far they haven’t made anything I really need.
x2. My luck with BLI is really bad…
Curious to see how well these will be detailed or how they run?
With Kato SD40s on the market and a beautiful model to boot…at a fraction of the cost…why does Roco bother?
