I am just curious how many model railroaders there are in the Tulsa Area. I thought we could share where we are and what our interest is focused on.
I live in Owasso and am freelancing an HO layout based off the BNSF/BN/Frisco Cherokee Sub from Springfield to Tulsa set in the modern era (late 90’s to present). My layout is located in a 36x30 finished room over my garage. The layout will have over 300’ of mainline when completed. So far it is still mostly benchwork and roadbed.
So lets hear from my fellow green country model railroaders and real railroaders as well!
I always look forward to meeting with my fellow modeler’s. Hopefully my layout will be to the point I won’t feel embarrased to show it to someone. I have just about got all of the track installed in my 30"x36’ yard. It is double ended and consists of 1 main track, 2 ARR/DEP tracks, 10 classification tracks and 1 runaround/bypass track to get from west end to east end. Both east and west ends have seperate drill tracks so one end (west) can concentrate on classification of arrivals and the other can concentrate on building (trimming) trains for departures.
Here are a couple views from the west end.
Here are a couple views from the east end.
I use car cards and waybills for operations. This has been a great enhancement to operating the layout.
