Roll Call

After all the tornados yesterday and last nite - are we all present and accounted for?

Lincoln had a 70% chance of rain and got squat.

Illinois, Indiana - are you ok.

Mook

Heard Ft wayne got an inch of rain in less than an hour.We here in Nw ohio are ok.

Little twister about 60 miles SW of here on Sunday, minor damage, no injuries. Just rain and a little wind here since. Got a max wind of 23mph on the home wx station.

Present and accounted for.

All OK here; the Illinois tornadoes were south and west of us. We spent the evening watching a movie…when we got out of the theater we knew it had rained, but didn’t know about the wild stuff until we got to the (late) TV news at home. Lombard got about 0.4" of desperately-needed rain; things are damp but very green this morning.

Everything’s OK here.

I’ve never been in/seen a tornado, we just don’t get them up here.

Thank Goodness [:)]

Had 6 funnel clouds spotted within 50 miles N NNE W and SW of home last night. We only got about a 1/2 inch, so it skipped over us.

the tornadoes hit south and west of me, we aren’t in what’s called the Alley, but we’re really really close.

Jay

close as in horseshoes and hand grenades - can still be a problem!

Mook

LOL, yes it can, there’s been times they’ve hit right here, as well as to the east. so we don’t consider ourselves Lucky by any means, just not as likely to get them as others.

Jay

I’m not sure, but I don’t think I’m in Kansas anymore.

I’ll just follow the yellow brick road…

A news flash for those of you that didn’t hear. For a short time, Wisconsin split off and floated away from Minnesota and Illinois out into lake Michigan. Several railroads were called, including BNSF, UP and WSOR, to haul it back into place. Large ropes were attached to several trains and WI was dragged back into place and spiked down good by the WSOR. Nobody got hurt, and this time it was spiked by WSOR and Not UP, so hopefully this will never happen again.[swg][swg][swg]

p.s. My 300th post!

Everything is fine here in Omaha.
Omaha had an 80% chance of rain and guess what we got? 0.08 hundreths of an inch.
Sunday we had an 80% chance and got nothing.
Yesterday in the late evening we had a 40% chance and got nothing. I think that the forecasters need to sharpen up on their skills. I do know that Norfolk was under a tornado warning on Sunday and yesterday evening. I guess I’m finally done griping!

Willy

…It did get pretty nasty last evening and during the night in this part of the country. Indiana had tornado activity moving from the southwest to the norheast in the evening…and some small towns and Kokomo did have damage…We here in Muncie had them passing about 10 miles west of us in their trip to the northeast part of the state. Yes, we are in an area of the state that does see this kind of activity but once again remained lucky while they passed us by.
Forecast is possibly more of the same this late afternoon or evening…

I’m present and accounted for. Fort Rain may have gotten an inch of rain in an hour, I don’t doubt that. (See the pun of Fort Wayne.) The road outside our house was covered with at least a half-inch of water (it normally fills that ditch, so that’s several hundred gallons more.)

Granville, IL got hit by a tornado, but did not seem to be too badly damaged. It’d probably rate a strong F1, weak F2. Utica got hit bad, or just got hit in a more vital location. 8 dead so far from a tavern collapse. (Do go in to taverns, and they won’t collaspe on you. Sorry if N E one is offended w/ my remark.)

Congratulations and a good sense of humor too! Wonder if we could do that with maybe Nebraska and Colorado - we could use a mountain or two…

Moo

Willy - could it be that Bergie is in charge of rain for our area? He may be unhappy with one of us -, must be you, of course!

We don’t need wind - have that year around, but some kind of water would be really nice!

Mookie

Maybe I should bring water instead of popcorn…

Naaah!

Haven’t heard much lately from the Weather Gods…they must be on vacation…hope the weather is lousy for them!

Bring water, popcorn and port-a-potty…Ladies you know…

As of right now, all we’ve had for the last several days is light to moderate rain showers.

Supposedly, tonight we stand to get thundershowers and possibly some heavy
weather. Sure hope not anything bad.
