Rolling stock on the New Haven in 1949

i found some 4 packs of 1937 aar boxcars for the new haven rr here

but they have 4 different paint jobs, which of these would have been seen on the rails in 1949?

1949 was just before railroads started full dieselization, and the revamping of their image to a more “modern” appearance. Use the #80104 cars for 1949, with the full roadname in script. The big NH is a mid-1950s scheme (and the orange is a 1960s!)

actually the big NH is the 60’s scheme the orange and the black were late 50’s,also check branchlines web site,they usually tell the build/repaint dates.

Both block NH schemes are mid-1950’s.

The “Script Herald” is correct for 1949.
