Curious if anyone knows of any good web sites to find drawings (left,front,back,ect) of Locomotives and cars …
I find a lot of photos,but drawings are hard to come by…

If you want strictly online sources try: www.thebackshops.com/ . They charge for blue prints and their list is limited.
If you know your era of interest get a CD copy of the car builders cyclopedia which has specifications, dimensional drawings and statistical information. Walthers carries them I believe.
If you are interested in a specific manufacturer or road there are specialist books and historical societies which frequently have archives of plans.
If you want to hit the nail with the big hammer go to www.loc.gov . the Library of Congress. If it has ever been published in the US likely the LOC has a listing.
If all else fails, and you have a clear photograph with no noticable parallax of the piece you are interested in and know at least one dimension, wheel or driver diameter for example, you can print a photograph to scale and then take measurments from the photo.

nearly every maagzine in the hobby publishes drawings for scrathbuilders. A wide variety have been published over the years. Greater effort toward accuracy has been occuring since roughly 1980 in these efforts. I know Rob Schoenburg has PRR equipment diagrams on his web site for much of the PRR rolling stock. usually contacting an historical society for the railroad of interest will result in substantial information also.

Basically I am looking for close to accurate drawings of loco’s and cars so I can get the right measurements for them when I model em!
I dont mind that its web based as my modeling is digital…(yep,I am one of those vido train simulator modelers[:)] )…}{Moving into a apartment is a ******![}:)]

If you want current era it should be no problem to input photos off the net and then size them with a reducing photo copy machine. If you know, for the example, the truck wheel diameter, you should be able to determine the other dimensions by imputation.
