I recently purchased a Lionel fasttrack train set.
I have an old Chessie Systems 8470- gauge 027 engine.
Will this engine work on the fasttrack?

As Dale already posted, yes to your question. If you wi***o look into Fastrack as a growing part of your hobby and want to perhaps start a layout, they have a new book called “The Lionel Fastrack Book” you can get it on Amazon for about $20. It is pretty good with information on how to use this new track.
Also, welcome to the forum.[#welcome] You will find plenty of useful information here, but you may want to check the search, located at the top of the page. Many topics have been discussed and you can gather plenty of info that way.

Our layout is all FasTrack and we frequently run 50 and 60 year old trains on it with no problems. As a matter of fact, we just ran our little 2034 last night to stretch its legs.
