Rotating signs, Power packs and the Coffee Shop

Hi,
I finally got to my February 2006 copy of Model Railroader. On page 130 is a MR project called ‘Simple Rotating Signs’. I love it, what a great idea!
It was designed by Bill Day of Potomac Falls, VA. Bill if you are here, very nice!

A question: Most power packs/throttle controllers have a track power connection and an accessory power connection. I’m assuming the accessory connection is a constant voltage. Is there a standard power output for the accessory connection? 12VDC, 12VAC, etc?

Also I was told the Coffee shop is a really good chat room. How do I join?
Thanks all,
Rap213

The Coffee Shop is not a ‘chat room’ in the common internet sense of the word (does not have people on line instantly typing/chatting with one another). It’s a normal thread just like any other one on the forum. The difference is mainly that the messages there are not required to be specifically on trains (although most have at least some trains content). No special joining required. It might help to click on the thread and read the last couple of pages, just to get more of an idea of the type of conversation that is currently going on before you start posting. Forget about starting at page 1.

Regards
