I bought a Shay 2 truck loco kit # 360 online and need a replacement part # 22393 can motor…the link to Roundhouse no longer seems to work…any ideas on who has these parts ? I also couldn’t find anything under Model Die Casting Inc. either… SK in PA
Get a hold of Athearn (Horizon Hobbies). They bought the MDC line a few years ago.

As David has already told you, Athearn bought Model Die Casting a few years ago and all MDC products are now Ready-to-Roll made in China. Thre are no more MDC kits.
You might be able to find what you’re looking for by clicking on the “Parts” icon on the top bar.
A better source might be North West Short Line, but you’d better hurry because they are going out of business when the owner retires later this year if no one buys the company.
I would suggest you buy another kit on e-bay and use it for parts.
Say this one:

You could also put a good NWSL remotor kit in it also, it would make it a more quiet runner and smoother.
All the old MDC stock was sold off. Here is the new Roundhouse link. They no longer use the MDC term. Update your Bookmarks or Favorites if you use IE.

From what I have found out, the parts where sold to the below link.

NWSL link. http://www.nwsl.com/
You might find a can motor on ebay. A lot are sold there. I have a older MDC Climax which I think has a similar drive to the Shay. The motor was replaced with one from ebay and works very well.
Photo of motor end. The tape is only used to enclose the wiring from the four trucks and the decoder wiring. The motor is held in place with Liquid Nails. Nice and rigid.
Here is a link to someones Shay rebuild.
