Roundhouse/Switchher questions

I have 2 quick questions:

  1. I am building a layout, and I wi***o add a roundhouse. (n scale) I know walthers manufactures a 6-stall roundhouse, but they do not give any dimensions other than 15" x 8 3/4".

Room is pretty tight, so I was wondering about the angles for the tracks/distance to turntable, etc. If anyone can help, let me know.

  1. Also, my layout is NYC. I have a couple locomotives for this road, but I cannot find switchers. If anyone knows what, if any, manufacturer produces an NYC switcher, lemme know. It doesn’t look quite right when an F7 is switching the small yard I have.

Thx,
Hector

Just another quicky…
I’m pretty new to N scale, so I was wondering if someone would help me out with the proportions. I need to know how the radii compare to HO. What is the N scale equivilant to 18" and such.
Thx,
Hector

HO scale is 1:87, N scale is 1:160. To convert an HO scale measurement to N scale, just take it times 87/160, or approx. 0.54. So 18" in HO would be about 9-3/4" in N.

Sorry, can’t help you on the Walther’s roundhouse dimensions. I did notice, however, that the description indicated it would handle locomotives up to 6-3/4 inches long. You should probably make sure that is adequate.
