Does anyone know of a website that lists known past and/or present roundhouses? I’m doing a project and need to know of any past or present roundhouses in Virginia. Thanks.

You might try Google searching it. I’d also reccomend posting this on the TRAINS Magazine forums, this one doesn’t get much traffic.

Until the late 1970’s, maybe the '80’s, there was a roundhouse in Alexandria VA just south of the intersection of Duke Street and South Henry Street. The site now has condos on it. There is a street that runs through the site parallel to Duke Street that is called Roundhouse Lane. There is no trace of the roundhouse or the small yard that was there. I have no idea who owned it or when it was closed. It used to be a pretty rough area but is no very upscale.
