Over the past several years Amtrak has had several
route cuts, one of which was from Salt Lake City
to Las Vegas. My question is what happened to the
Desert Wind route between Chicago-Los Angeles?
Why was this service cut? This was the last train
I rode on to Los Angeles in 1995.

If I remember correctly, it was budget cuts that killed the Desert Wind and the Pioneer.
