I model in N, HO, O, and G. I was rooting through some of my dad’s N scale passenger cars, and I came upon two corrogated passenger cars made by a German company called Rowa. I was looking at the interiors and i think they are well made and look really neat. Because I like the Chessie System and all of it’s annexed railroads(i cant think of what they are called at the moment) as in C&O, i want to model those roads. The passenger train i am trying to model is the C&O The Chessie and I would like to model it in N and HO, and i would like very detailed interiors. Can somebody help me???
P.S. Sorry for the long explaination and poor wording
Rowa was a German company sometimes in middle of 1970. After bankruptcy part of the production went to ROCO. It will be very difficult to get such cars now.
Thank you for your help, i will start looking at Roco cars too.
As far as is known the ex Rowa N scale coach tooling is missing. Roco have not discovered the missing tools in their stores. Perhaps one day they will turn up and the coaches can be made again. The coaches, based I Beleive on C&O, were very well detailed for the time and stand up well even today.
Roco are again making product for the US market in HO so hopefully their interest in N scale will spurn some reintroductions of previous items and some new product.
I have one Rowa car in New York Central it was sold as a Con-cor product back in the 70’s. I think Con-Cor had a marketing deal with Rowa at one point. I also remember reading that Con-Cor was interested in locating the tooling, I’m not sure if they had any success.
The Rowa Passenger cars were excellent models for their time, they are still better than many of the products currently on the market, I always keep an eye out for them at shows and on E-bay.
